Castles in the Sea 1

 Original Mixed media , collage on 61x61x4cm stretched canvas. 
The coastline was wild with massive monoliths and rock formations rising out of the sea. 
Weathered by centuries of rough seas, they were in sharp contrast to the turquoise of the ocean and clear light blue sky. Where the sky and sea met on the horizon there was a softening, a blending of colours. Perhaps this was just an optical illusion caused by water particles in the air.
The geometrical rock formations with their deep shadows and sharp edges stood out against this softening of the horizon in my line of vision. They reminded me of castles rising from the ocean.
