There is a hush in Quiet Horizon — a soft inhale, held for a moment before release. I painted this piece as an invitation to pause: to stand at the edge of something familiar and watch the world settle into itself. Pale blues and muted beiges wash together like a morning that forgot to rush; the horizon is gentle, not a line of finality but a place where sky and earth remember one another.
The work grew from a desire to honour the slow, quiet transitions in life.
Layers of paint build a tactile landscape: barely-there clouds, a misty meeting at the middle, and a lower plane of subtle texture with small hints of gold leaf in the sand that suggests shore or soil, memory or calm. The marks are intentionally modest; they don’t shout. They hold space, like someone softening the edges so you can breathe.
